Escargots a la Bourguignon (from France)
Ingredients:
6oz butter 3tbsp chopped parsley 2 cloves garlic 1 tbsp shallot 1 tbsp brandy 24 prepared snails with shells (tinned or frozen)
Cream the butter with the other ingredients until soft. Put a little into each then push the snail back then more butter mix. Place the snails on circles of brown bread in an oven proof dish. Bake for about 20mins until brown and bubbling. |
Webmaster replies Can you buy snails in the supermarket? I imagine snails would be a bit like mushrooms. Could you use mushrooms instead for a veggie option?
