My Experience of Theatre: (THE STORY) My anticipation was killing me, my palms sweaty my heart pounding, my stomach in knots feeling nervous but excited at the same time that’s how I felt going to the Kings Theatre in Glasgow to see “Fame”.
I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman or a young child tucked up in bed on Christmas Eve waiting to see if they can see or hear Santa.
The grandeur of it took my breathe away, all the seats in red velour all in their rows, the balconies spread across the top and all the gold detailing the stage was lit up fabulously and the background music made you ever more anxious for it to start.
From the minute the curtain went up till it fell I was engrossed in it, taking everything in, the music was superb I was even crying at parts. Never in my life would I have believed that the theatre was for me, but god was I wrong!
I now know “never say never” as the saying goes as this is something I'd definitely do again. I’ve kept my programme and even my tickets as a great reminder of how I felt on that night; I’d definitely say “I’m hooked”. This was an experience of a lifetime for me and I’m so glad we did it. Visit to the Theatre: (THE POEM)
Anticipation: Sweaty palms, heart pounding, Stomach in knots, Nervous! Excited to see “Fame” at the King’s!
Julie Roberts in “Pretty Woman”! A young child tucked up in bed Waiting for Santa. – That was me!
Breathtaking grandeur, Red velour rows, high balconies. Gold on stage side. Lights, music. Curtain up.
I gazed in awe, laughed, cried Real tears. I’d thought the theatre Was not for me. But I was wrong.
I’ll go again and again; Just give me the chance.
