  Birth

The first time ever, I saw your face.
A cry of innocence takes its place.
A wrinkled face, I had never seen.
Lifted up like a king, I've never been.
I saw your blue eyes,
as blue as the sea,
as bright, as the sun.
I Love you.
As you are my son.

There's a song that starts with that line; your poem's more real though.

 

"Lifted up like a King, I've never been."  A great line Yvonne.
