Visit to the Theatre

Anticipation:

Sweaty palms, heart pounding,

Stomach in knots,

Nervous!

Excited to see “Fame” at the King’s!

Julie Roberts in “Pretty Woman”!

A young child tucked up in bed

Waiting for Santa. – That was me!

Breathtaking grandeur,

Red velour rows, high balconies.

Gold on stage side.

Lights, music. Curtain up.

I gazed in awe, laughed, cried

Real tears.

I’d thought the theatre

Was not for me.

But I was wrong.

I’ll go again and again;

Just give me the chance.

This poem started off as a  story?

Sheena says it's easy to do.   I'm not so sure.   What do you think?
