The Timeless ZoneThe laughter of joyThe tears of sadness The sound of past voices Echo through the empty Wilderness of space The air cold and crisp Invisible and untouched Only my mother hears My wailing sound Upon her ears Gone are the voices of Childhood glee Gone are the tears And laughter too All lost forever Lost to the universe And the timeless zone

here is another one by Beth on a slightly different subject
The Midnight Visitor
The roaring fire The red flames dance The black coal mingles The warm heat Touches my cold face The burning candles Send fluttering shadows against The dark empty room The wind pounding On rattling windows Heavy rain beats all around I sit and wait The thud of horses’ hooves Tread wearily in mud Nearer they come Nearer they come Come to me I say The creek of The heavy wooden door And familiar footsteps Come my way My lover has come Tonight we will make love By the red roaring fire
