Adult Learners Week - Celebration of Learning
Tuesday 23rd May 2006

I received an invitation to attend a certificate presentation on the above date in the Popinjay Hotel, Rosebank.  This was in recognition of my achievement within Adult Education year 2005-2006.

The event lasted a few hours during which we heard from various speakers about the achievements and aims of Adult Learning in South Lanarkshire.

Councillor Mary Smith presented us with our certificates and a photographer was there to take group photos.

The evening was rounded off by a small buffet with tea and coffee.  Also provided  was leaflet information on a varied range of subjects which are available and samples of things already accomplished showing you of what could be achieved.

There was a wide age group of people who attended and from classes all over South Lanarkshire. The happy chatter let you know everyone was enjoying themselves, so a good night was had by all.

Thanks Maureen.

The workers in the Community Learning  Service also enjoyed the evening.   We think it's important that our learners get the chance to meet each other and swap stories.

It also helps to show that enjoyment should be part of education.

Contact us and tell us about your experience of learning.  Was it fun or dire!?
