The Trumpet

I bought my son Ronnie a trumpet for his Christmas. He did not know how to play it so I paid for him to have lessons.  Now he can play it so well.  He plays in the school band and has been approached to play at a big venue.  It means he would have to go down South.

As the big day got nearer Ronnie was getting very excited.  We took him to the station to see him off.  We were very sad that we were not going with him but he felt he was old enough to go by himself.  As the train pulled out of the station I had a tear in my eye as we waved him goodbye.

When Ronnie reached his hotel he realised he had left his trumpet on the train.  He phoned the train station but it was nowhere to be seen.  All was not lost as someone very kindly offered Ronnie the use of there trumpet. A great day was had by all.

Irene, It's a pity he lost his trumpet, I hope it was insured.

By the way, I've added paragraphs to your story and left the rest as written; I hope you don't mind.   I think it makes it more inviting to read.   I'll change it back if you don't agree.
