MY HOUSE

My house is in the outskirts of Hamilton.  I have lived there for fifty one years.  It is a flat which has four in a block.  The garden at the front has a lawn with roses round the border.  There is a driveway at the side of the house.  The walls have roughcast on them and the windows are double glazed.  The frames of the windows are white and the door is also white.  There are double gates at the runway which are painted black and there is a main road at the front of the house as well. The traffic runs twenty four hours a day.

At the back of the house I have a garden shed which I built myself.  The garden at the back of the house is all slabbed and looks on to a factory.  The noise from the factory was quite annoying but when I got double glazing that put a stop to the noise.

The rooms in the house are quite big compared to the houses that they build nowadays.

There is gas central heating but there are only radiators in the bathroom, the hall, living room and kitchen.  The two bedrooms do not have radiators.

It can be a cold house as it has a concrete floor throughout the house.  I have a gas fire in the living room which has a wooden mantelpiece.  The bathroom has a shower and is also tiled.

The bedrooms are painted white.  The hall is also white and the living room has three walls white with the fireplace wall decorated with wallpaper and dado rail.

The kitchen has wallpaper which has a tiled effect.  The kitchen is a fitted kitchen and its floor is tiled which is a grey blue which goes well.  I have a front door and a back door.

I tiled the bathroom and kitchen myself.  I don't have a dish washing machine but I have a washing machine, fridge and gas cooker.

It is quite a comfortable house and I have good neighbours.

I used to live in a house with concrete floor, but it also had metal window frame- it was baltic.
