A Day In The Life Of

The silence was deafening when I woke the first morning, back to work was the order of the day.  Gone was the banging clattering and the noise from a far away TV.  Gone was the demands on me.  The house was silent it felt like heaven all was back to normal.

I! can now have my! Christmas Holiday, now is my time.  Today I can please myself what I want to do.

After a lazy morning in bed I rose had a slow steaming hot shower.  When I finally emerged down stairs for breakfast it was 11.40.  Did I say breakfast? sorry I mean brunch. While outside was below freezing I was in tropical temperatures as the heating was quite conveniently turned up.

Later as I sat on the soft warm sofa I leisurely ate my strawberry truffles and Toblerone, at the same time finishing some left over wine from the day before.  I could dream of all the things I would like to do.  Dreaming costs nothing.

I dropped off before I realised it and was transported to a warm sunny beach.  The sky was blue with no clouds.  I could feel the sun warm against my skin and out of no where came a warm relaxing breeze.  The rush of the waves to reach the shore was the only noise I could hear.  Behind a few palm trees swaying with the breeze, it was heaven.

A long cool drink was politely put on the table by my side, I thought! he must be a mind reader?  waiter service too.

As I lay there enjoying this sheer luxury.  I was thinking, this couldn't get any better?

Hello are you in? it's me.  Uhhhhhhhhhhh  " My holiday is over".

I have put your article in as a story.   Should it have been a poem Maureen?

Like the first four words by the way.

Maureen has answered, it's a short story, not a poem! Thanks.
