The Beast

Thursday morning.  My weekly battle begins at the supermarket.  After trying to pick a trolley that will glide gracefully round the aisles and make me a happy shopper  I set out on my quest to reach the till.  I'm never usually that lucky though as it always has a mind of its own.  The trolley and I battle like tug-of-war up and down up and down-it goes one way while I go the other.  Not to mention the other shoppers I near take the legs from in the process while trying to control this beast.

Eventually I reach the half way mark and I'm beginning to feel the heat, so off comes the scarf and then the coat.  The fight with this animal is more serious than I first thought, if I've to get out of here today.  I've got to win.  As we waltz around the aisles pushing and pulling at one another my patience is beginning to wear thin.  Did it again.  Bumped into some one's trolley.  I've got to reach this last aisle and then its plain sailing right down to the till.  Oh! I've just clipped the shelf - pity you don't get points for bumps I would have loads

At last, I'm onto the final straight the till is in sight.  I unload the beast and quickly pay the bill and then I'm out of the door in a flash.  As I fill the car I wallow in victory like? Smiling wickedly as I discard my unwanted trolley on to some unsuspecting shopper.

My battle is won for another week.  I leave on my journey home exhausted but valliant.
