My Wish

Last week I went to the wheel on Thursday 31st May. We went with Flonda Josie Rosemary and the group we went on the minibus and it took us 45 minutes to get there. The Falkirk Wheel lies north East of Glasgow.

We went to the Falkirk wheel as the final part of our project on canals.

I enjoyed my day out going on the boat, having coffee and getting photo’s taken.

I went up to see the control room I saw the Falkirk wheel on the computer screen.

I went on Thursday 31st May to the Falkirk Wheel.

I went with the class, Rosemary, Josie, Fiona and Anne. We travel with the mini bus and arrived at 1.15pm. We went to the Falkirk Wheel it took 45 minutes. We did a project about the canals.

The weather was mild, sunny and warm. I was amazed and shocked at the size of the wheel. We had coffees and cakes compliments of South Lanarkshire Council.

I saw computers  operating the wheel. We had coffees and cakes, compliments of South Lanarkshire Council. I saw computers operating the wheel and canals and locks. The best bit was to see the Falkirk Wheel, Canal and tunnel. I recognised the wheel, locks and canals.

I bought a bear at the shop. I saw a lot of tourists. Tourists come here from all over the world to go on the Wheel. The people learn about the wheel.

Glasgow and Edinburgh are linked by the Forth and Clyde Canal and Union Canal at the Falkirk Wheel. Now the canal clean for the wild life e.g. animals, fish, birds and otters.

Mark, you mentioned photos so you could see about getting them passed to me and I'll put them on our web site.

John M, you mentioned a project on canals.   Let me know what you learned and I'll put that on our web site.

James, you mentioned a few women.   Why no stories from them? Have a word with them James and get me their stories.

John S, you saw computers operating the Wheel, surely people do that! Are there no engineers there?  Are there, and if so, what do they do John?

Graham, nobody has told me what the Wheel is for.   What does it do? Graham, tell me and I'll let others know by publishing your answer on our web site.
