Martin Luther King Martin Luther King was born in 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He said all men were created equal. He became a Baptist minister in the 1960’s. He was a civil rights activist. (equal rights for everyone no matter what colour you are or what country you are from.) He was a champion of equal rights and he preferred a peaceful march. Dr King was always there on the front lines to support and inspire others. Charismatic and able to connect with both black and white citizens and was greatest American civil rights leader. We are all equal and should be granted basic human rights no matter what the colour of their skin. Martin Luther King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 to honour his courageous and selfless work. He was the youngest Nobel peace prize recipient. The nobel peace prize is the highest achievement of peace worldwide between all different kinds of people. Scott Larkhall Community Centre
