Famous People I Have Met

I met Lulu when I was 3 years old. She came to 137 Garthland Drive, Dennistoun ,Glasgow. We went out to play in the back court. I was there with Lulu and Janey and my twin sister Marian 1957.

I met Geri Halliwell at a Jehovah’s Witness Convention in Hamilton. I was going through a change of faith at the time.

I met Kenny Dalglish at Celtic against Hearts with my brother Vinnie  at Hamden Park in Glasgow.

I met Elton John in the pub called The Bell at Kings Cross in London. I was at the next table to him, we had a drink, he took a minute with me in 1975.

Andrew Lloyd Webber I met in the pub called the Bell in Kings Cross London England. I had a drink with him on a night out. We talked about my godmother, Nona Green, that was the daughter of the owner of Green Playhouse who was her father.

I met Diana Spencer in Hyde Park in London. I was working in the big houses. She was a nanny in the morning. I said hello to her. I went to the laundrette, she saw me again in the launderette. I did laundry and went home. That night I went to the launderette to do my laundry. She saw me again in the launderette. I did my laundry and went home to my digs. I went out to the Bell pub for a drink, I saw her in the corner, she came over to me and said (I have seen you for the third time to-day.) I said to her will you have a drink with me she said yes. We got up to dance. I said “what is your name” she said “Diana” and I said “my name is Martin”. We had 3 to 4 drinks together. She sat with me and talked about art and music. She liked me and was communicative. At that time she was just an English girl. I went with her to the Victoria Club.

Do you think Martin has used a little bit of poetic license here and there?

He certainly knows a lot of famous people.
