Cameron’s Amazing Invention

Once there was a robot called Robbie. He came to life one day by accident. A young boy called Cameron was always inventing things. On his seventh birthday he got a giant magnet which was so strong that it caused an electrical surge. All the power in his house was transferred to metal objects. Suddenly, when the lights came back on there was a strange figure. For a body it had a toaster, legs with springs, spanners for arms and his head was a kettle; with big marbles as eyes, a teaspoon as a nose and tin can as a mouth.

When Cameron realised that he had made a robot he was so excited. Robbie started to jump up and down on his spring legs. He grabbed Cameron and danced and sang he was so happy. Cameron could not believe that he had made his own special friend. They talked all night, laughing, telling jokes and eating jelly babies.

As the days and nights passed Cameron and Robbie done everything together. No one knew that Cameron had a special friend until one day his sister Amy Jane was playing in her room and could hear laughing and joking coming from her little brother’s room. Amy Jane was a drama queen who loved perfume, make up, music and clothes. But nothing pleased Amy Jane more than getting her little brother in trouble. So she burst in to his room and saw Robbie. At first she was just teasing her brother for talking to himself and then Robbie sneezed. Amy Jane could not believe it, she was so mad that her brother was having so much fun that she picked Robbie up and threw him out of the window. Cameron was crying and screaming at his sister. He ran down the stairs and out the front door, but there was no sign of Robbie anywhere.

For days Cameron searched and searched but there was no sign of Robbie. He became very sad and wanted revenge on his nasty sister. So, one night he went into her room when she was out playing and put green dye in her shampoo bottle and ants in her bed. You can imagine Amy Jane’s horror when her beautiful hair turned green and she was covered in ants in her bed.

It wasn’t until Cameron was at high school that he found out that Robbie had sprung so high after being thrown out of the window that he found a planet called Roboto land. This was where Robbie the robot lived with all kinds of different robots but he had never forgotten Cameron and his mean sister Amy Jane.
