My Wedding

My name is Elizabeth Graham.  About 5 weeks ago l went to see about my reading and writing. It was getting me down because l had to ask my family and friends to write things down for me. I am so happy that I did it .My writing looks a wee bit better too. My husband is happy. He can see that l am coming on so well and my friends can too because when l text them they know what l am saying. My family is so happy too. My husband sits down with me and looks over my homework. He can’t believe how well l am doing. Sometime it puts me off coming to the class because the class is too noisy but l am still going until l get better.

I got married 3 weeks ago. It was very good but it was a wee bit sad because my mum and dad had passed away.  I wish that my mum and dad were at the wedding. My big brother gave me away and he did a very good job.  Dale’s family made me so welcome. It was thanks to his sister that Dale and l got together because she is my best friend and I had a birthday party for her.  I met Dale at the party.  I liked him, so I was hoping that we would get together but we did not, but a week later we did.  

We have been together for 3 years. A year and half ago I took not well but Dale has been looking after me so well. He is always at my side. He is not just my husband, he is also my best friend.

Now l would like to go back to work. I was a senior care assistant in a nursing home. It was a very hard job.  I had lot of writing to do.   I can’t do it because of my health but I miss it because I have done it for 11 years so I will be looking for a new job but I don’t know what.

Thank to this class I am writing out my thank you cards now. I am so happy that I can do something for  myself  now. I don’t need to ask anyone for help. I hope that in the next couple of weeks I get much better. I would like to help people like me just like the people who have helped me.
