Bit about myself My name is Mark I am in my 30’s. I was born in Lanark and I live in Carluke. Carluke is a small town in South Lanarkshire near Lanark about 30 minutes from both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Like many people who live in Carluke, I do not work locally. I work in Glasgow. Usually it takes me about an hour to drive there every morning but it can take longer if the traffic is heavy. I am interested in photography and I am a member of the Carluke Camera Club, which meets every Monday night in the Carluke Community Centre. It is a very popular Club. Members talk about where they have been taking their photographs some take landscapes some do portraits and some talk about printers and cameras. We have to use the big hall now because so many different clubs come along to see the photographs. I have learned a lot about levels and layers masks +saturation. It is very hard to use photoshop. On Friday there was a photographer from England showing some of his photographs. They were a very high standard. Most photographers use digital cameras but some still use old film to take pictures. I use a digital camera and I put my photographs on to the computer. We have an annual exhibition at the end of the year. Some members enter competitions at national and local level and we do very well in some but not in others. I have not entered a competition yet because I am scared of what people would say about my pictures. |
