My Holiday In Blackpool

 By Nan Hanley

We all had a safe journey and Bill Russell and I, plus the staff, took three or four hours to get there. We stopped off for a snack and a drink on the way, and after we arrived at the bus station, we took a taxi, which was called the Oak Lea Hotel.

The meals, at the hotel, were very good and they had my favourite, steak pie! My room was lovely and I had a shower and a TV, I also had a kettle with tea bags, coffee and milk so I could make a cup of tea in my room.

We had a “singalong” in the hotel and also a game of “Bingo”. I won five pounds! Another day we went to the zoo and the weather was fine and dry.  On the last night we all went to a show and we watched Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley and Freddie Mercury ‘look-a-likes’.  It was fantastic!

We all had a safe journey home.

Blackpool seems to be getting more popular.  I went down to do some fishing last September and could not get a room.

Thanks for that Nan.
