Thanks Fiona.

I don't know whether that is a happy ending or a sad one. Before you could come to that conclusion, you would probably need to have seen the film or read the book in order to get right into the story.

Has any one else either read the book or seen the film?

The Horse Whisperer

I really enjoyed this book, I have already seen the movie before but found the book just as enjoyable.

The story is all about a young girl called Grace who owns a horse called Pilgrim. When out riding one day with her friend Judith, there is a terrible accident. Grace is left badly injured and looses part of her leg and sadly her friend is killed.

Grace’s mum Annie doesn’t want her horse Pilgram put down, even though he is also badly scared mentally and physically. She hears of a man called Tom who is also known as the “Horse Whisperer” who can help heal horses, who have been injured in certain ways. She contacts him and he comes to see Pilgram but says he cannot help him. Annie wont accept this and travels to his ranch with Grace and Pilgram.

Tom can’t believe she has travelled thousand of miles and in doing this and showing how much she needs his help, he gives it a go. He spends he next few weeks working with Pilgram and Grace he also spends a lot of time with Annie whom he then starts to get better Annie decides she is going to leave her husband. Toms sister in law Diane who works on the ranch is jealous of his closeness to Annie and is overheard by Grace when she is talking to Toms brother Frank, that they are having an affair.

The next morning Grace and Pilgram are  no where to be seen. Everyone is panicking, Tom and his brother Frank get the horses and go looking for her. They find Grace is frozen too scared to move. Tom moves close to the wild horse trying to get it away from Grace and Pilgram, unfortunately the horse strikes Tom killing him instantly.

The last part of the story catches up with Grace and Annie a year later back home. Annie has given birth to a son called Matthew, she knows in her heart that he is Toms son. Annie and her husband are living apart though he is still in her life so he can see Grace. They may even now get back together. Grace is also doing well and is much happier, she looks after and rides Pilgram every weekend.

The End
