SIX BOOK CHALLENGE
At the beginning of the year I was asked to do a Six Book Challenge, which
means I had to read six books. I had from Januaray to May to complete it.
Before I started I never really read much, so I did not know if I could
complete it in time, but I did it in about two-three months.
When I was finished I was pleased with myself because it helped me choose
books from the library. I felt more confident about my reading. I learnt
new words, it helped me to talk about books more and it's helped me to
read to my child more which helps him to read more as well. Also I've
started to write a little book about my son's life. The best thing I liked
about the challenge was reading the books themselves, because I did not
read much before hand.
My first book was a biography of Charles Dickens which was written by
Peter Leigh, it was interesting because I did not know some of his books
were based on his own life like Oliver Twist.
My second book was also a biography about Will Smith which was by Julia
Holt, it was not too bad, but it was interesting to see that his career
also started with him making a programme about himself which was called
The Fresh Prince of Bellair this is still showen on telly still.
My third book was called The Hawkstone by Bill Ridgway, this book was a
good read, I liked the fact it kept you thinking about who the great bad
Morpeth was. I would recommend to anyone to read it if you want to know
who he is.
My forth book was A Christmas Carol which was by Charles Dickens, I
thought the book was a quick read, I liked how the main character changed
over night, I also liked how the book translated some of the words for
you.
The fifth book was The Poison in the Blood by Tom Holland. This book was
based upon characters from the Greek mythical period. The book was good
but I was suprised that Yonani helped to kill Paris, because she still
loved him.
The last book in the Six Book Challenge was The Partner by John Grisham. I
really enjoyed it, I thought it was intresting how the woman Patrick
trusted and loved betrayed him at the end of the story. This book was my
favourite in the challenge and I would recommend it to anyone who likes
John Grisham books.
I would encorage people to start reading books as it is very enjoyable.

Thanks for that Christine.
You really have to let us see your
book, if only part of it, about your son.
And, how's about people
contacting us
and
doing a review of some of the other
books or films. |
