My Story on The Six Book Challenge

It's now been a year since I started Community Learning.  We have had a few challenges throughout this time which have been great. I have read more books this past year than I ever have. The most fun and challenge I've had so far has been The Six Book Challenge, where we had to read six books between January and May.  I finished my challenge in three months I am so chuffed with myself as now I know I don't have to read big thick books as there are books in the library which are called The Quick Read and they are fabulous.

The six books I have read and recommend to everyone are "Star Sullivan" by Maeve Binchy, I couldn't put this book down once I started. My next one "Stalker" by Anthony Masters I finished this book in one night it was that good. Then there was "Rebecca" by Daphne du Maurier. This was fabulous. Next one "In the Shadow of The Mountain" by Helen Naylor a bit longwinded but turned out good in the end. Then there was book 5 "The Blue Hen" by Des Dillon. Now this book was a great laugh but sad at times too as it was set in Coatbridge and the banter was second to none. Now my last one is "Before Night Falls" by Keith Gray this book was most enjoyable it even made the hairs in my neck stand up at times it seems to leave you hanging and the end is like a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed this challenge as I've learnt how to choose books at the library and I've talked about books more. The best thing I liked about doing the challenge is we all talked about books we had all read it encouraged me to read other books that I wouldn't have thought would have interested me.

Thanks for that Shirley.

I hope you tell others about the Six Book Challenge and inspire them to read and, like you, they will probably discover the amount and quality of books freely available to all.

Keep me informed of your next challenge.
