I reckon they Mactavish and the cat must have been brought up together form youngsters for them to be buddies. Am I correct?

Mactavish was a Rottweiler who was my father’s pet.

Rottweilers are very powerful and muscular. They are generally black with tan markings.

These dogs originally come from Rottweil in Germany. They were used for droving and guarding cattle. Sometimes the drovers would keep their money tied around the dog’s neck to keep it safe.

The dogs can be very protective but fierce if aroused.
Mactavish was very good with family but had no time for strangers in her bit of ground. Her best friend was Sooty the black cat. Surprisingly the two animals got on very well together.

Mactavish only had one litter of pups, eight in number.
The pups got a good price when they were sold because of their pedigree. Mactavish won a number of cups in dog competitions.

Mactavish lived for about ten years.
