Thanks for the article Graham. Perhaps you'd like to tell us how the hovercraft actually manages this great feat.

On Thursday 22/05/2008 our group went to Troon for the day to see the lifeboat. It was a great day out for our team we went on the mini bus. We went on the life boat and looked inside. We saw the machinery and the engine which operated the lifeboat. The Troon lifeboat was an Arran class. We also saw a hovercraft. A hovercraft can operate in mud, sand and very shallow water.
