My young brother is going to be a monk in September.  He will stay at the temple for ten days.  He will shave his hair and eat only two meals – Breakfast and lunch.  Nearly, all time of the day he will be saying his prayers. He is not allowed to drink any alcohol during this time.    He will sit at a quiet place most of the time and meditate.  This is to clear his mind off sins.  This goes on for 10 days after that he is allowed to go home.
