Hello my name is Sandra I’m Portuguese and I came to live In Scotland two years ago. It hasn’t been easy because I found lots of difficulties, starting with the support at school for my daughter. I tried to prepare her for the Scottish school but she needed more support in English even now, and it’s very difficult to have that at school. Another thing that wasn’t easy was to look for a job. I couldn’t use my professional diploma and all my experience because they weren’t from the UK. But I’m a foreigner and in my opinion I need to accept the country rules because no one asked me to come here, it was me who decide to come. I don’t think just because I am not Scottish and I don’t agree with certain things or rules from this country I should ask for them to change it. The only thing that I can ask it for them to be more open minded because some immigrants come to UK to work then live not to depend from the Government and change country rules. Despite the difficulties, I like Scotland and I find that people that help me a lot. Thank you.
